Listers: With appologies in advance... I didn't even know that I *had*
a soapbox.

In reference to this thread, as well as some rather recently regarding
the respect (or lack thereof) that our truly fine LBCs get, may I please
offer the following:

Although a young man I have lived in different regions of the US and
also in western Europe. I have also had the privilege of driving in all
of the above. Guess what? There are idiot drivers everywhere. There
are also good drivers everywhere. Wow. Let's use our bandwidth for
further discussion on how bad a driver I obviously am by not being
European born (no offense to my recently immigrating forefathers).

Everyone I know from New York (that includes my inlaws) drone on and on
about how great the drivers are there. That, of course, would explain
the 6 accidents that I witnessed on the Belt Parkway on Colombus Day
weekend.

Anyone in Colorado care to further defend your state's drivers ability
in snow? I saw the news. If that storm had come through Virginia you'd
have been laughing at us.

In summary: I take all on this service with a grin, but let's put this
to rest.

     Bad drivers = Bad drivers.
    Good drivers = Good drivers.

I even know a few Americans in this area that commute through a
multitude of traffic circles in Washington DC every day. The potholes
in the streets are far more dangerous than the drivers there.

I will stop now.
