Thanks everybody for the advice.... Ended up being burned points upon desparate examination. They only had a few hundred miles on them, and looked fine until separated. Still can't figure why there was no spark from my high tension coil wire though. I replaced just the points to get me home before dark, and will be replacing the condenser as well just to be safe.
