Hello Ken Down in these parts. Machine shop do not install new guide unless there are really bad. What they do is drill out the guide oversize in press in a bronze insert. This insert is then fitted to valve stem. You now have a bronze guide. If they wear out over the years. They just push out the insert and press and fit a new one. John (n. ga.)
