John,
It's just a guess, but maybe somebody did a frame-off resto
many years ago. I know you say it is in pieces now, but 1955
was a long time ago, it could have been "restored" a few times
since. Even if it was painted when Damson came out (for the
TR 6, I beleive) it still means it could have been painted
over twenty five years ago....plenty of time to re-destruct.
Boy these cars are gettin' old....
