Just my belated $.02 worth:

I am doing a frame up restoration on a 1967 TR4A, live axle, 34
000 miles. Since it was my intent to replace every bearing and
seal (among other items), naturally the rear hubs had to come
off.

First:
Tried standard hub puller...RESULT...bent hub. <:-)

Second:
Since first hub was ruined, tried a test. 20 ton hydraulic
press...nothing. 20 ton hydraulic press + heated cherry red with
torch (i.e. welding, not flashlight for those over
'ome)...nothing!

Third:
Found some one with the correct Churchill tool. Started with the
already ruined hub so as not to do any damage to working
ones...popped right off. Three others took some combination of
the correct tool and hammering with a sledge (against the tool
not the hub or axle) but each came off. :-)

Recommendation:
Get the tool or something similar!!! Even many of our local
automotive shops specialising in these cars use some combination
of a press and bearing remover. If it bends or breaks, they just
add a new one into the bill...check the price of a new hub :-o
