 fbridges@mindspring.com asked about Waxoyl:

hi,

Waxoyl is a well known product particularly in the UK where you can buy it
in Motor parts stores.

It is an oily/waxy glop suitable for chassis. The snag with the kits is that the
applicator gun can get gummed up after the first use; I understand cleaning them
is a bit tricky, lots of hot water perhaps?

Although it does its job quite well, Waxoyl is not unique. You can probably
find equivalents in Agricultural supplies or places that fix farm machinery.

I paid a specialist garage to spray my chassis inners & complete under car 2
years
ago, I was too lazy to do it myself & they have all the right wands, plus
lifts, etc.
They must have used gallons of the (equivalent) stuff. I will need another
application next year.

I recommend the principle.
