Pat,
It will work just fine.
Be bold and try it without any kind of sealant first, just be sure the
bolts are snug not tight.
If it leaks a bit, you can always go back and smear some sealant on it.
To me, paying someone twenty bucks for it seems high, but then the only
time I have had an lbc in a shop was for an alignment, I didn't like it
and went home and redid everything.
If you have a hot glue gun handy (the kind used for crafts etc.) you
might tack the gasket on at each corner, putting the glue only on the
outside edge of the gasket and pan. Don't get any on the pan surface or
the sealing surface of the gasket.
This will hold the gasket in place while you are installing the pan and
save you lots of four letter words that I can already hear.
