As explained below, the rings may be shot. Perhaps the bores are
worn too much also. If possible, do a compression check on it. If any
of the cylinders are low, and improve significantly with a teaspoon of
oil into it, the rings are gone.
I'd definitely checked the condition of the crank bearings and of the
(exhaust) valve seats too.

If they are undamaged and the bores are the same overbore (if any), then
I can't see why not. But you should at least get new rings, and hone the
bores.
And if mixing, ensure all pistons weigh the same. Within a couple of
metric grams.

If they are visually damaged, holed, ring grooves shot, whatever. Also
if you need to rebore, obviously. Many replace pistons as a matter of
course at rebuilds, but on a relatively low output engine like the Spit
I am not sure if it is really necessary.

I doubt it very much.

Oil out of the dipstick means a clogged crankcase ventilator,
or excessive blow-by in one or more cylinders. The latter can be diagnosed
by low compression.

Huh?

Thanks, but no thanks.
