Theoretically, you don't have to remove the PDWA to recenter the plunger.
According to the manual, you open a bleeder valve in the circuit (front or
rear) that did not experience a pressure loss, make sure that the circuit
that lost pressure is no longer open or leaking, turn on the key (but do not
start the car) and then press on the brake pedal until you "hear a click" and
the brake warning light goes off. This click is, presumably, the plunger
inside the PDWA re-centering itself.

It a very simple arrangement inside the PDWA, the plunger that activates the
switch is moves toward the circuit that has the lower pressure. So if there
is leak in the rear, pressure in the front is higher and the plunger is
pushed toward the rear circuit (which is toward the back of the PDWA).

When you give up on the whole principle, you can get flare unions and just
have 2 totally independant circuits!
