I had a similar issue with a Mk1A I bought a while back. A previous
mechanic had used pins which were too long, so had shimmed them with nuts on
the backside of the backing plate. I ended up getting a set from the UK via
EBay earlier this year. My set appears to be high quality hardware.
Shipping wasn't an issue, but took a couple of weeks. Be aware that the
shipping cost will likely exceed the parts, and then add in tariffs, so
expect to pay $50 - $60 US.

Hi guys, Thanks for the suggestions. I decided to do the new brake shoes
this winter, replacing what I think are the originals. I got the car when
it was 10 years old and haven't changed them. And even though the
springs, pins and clips that I have are OK, I was hoping to renew
everything, The shoes are in the mail, and the springs are supposed to be
available soon. And yes, I saw that a couple UK sources claim to have them.
Are there any issues ordering from them? And I was considering the hardware
store solution as well.
Thanks again.
