Most likely the original finish is a marine grade =
material; England you know. I=E2=80=99m sure there are products out =
there that will strip it off but I=E2=80=99m not sure you would want =
those products soaking into the wood panel.

=20

I assume you want to refinish your dash. You may want =
to just block sand the dash and then refinish it as you like.

You might want to try the refinishing product on a sanded area to make =
sure it does not lift any of the original finish.

It's original. On the car in 1978 when I bought it. A few small pieces =
have chipped off with a knife, but most of it still has quite a hold. =
Lots of cracks.

In about 1979 I was able to chip it off with a small knife and =
screwdriver.
If its still on yours after all these years are you sure it is factory? =
Most I saw way back when were all
cracking off.
Good luck,
Gary

I=E2=80=99ve tried stripper, denatured alcohol and lacquer thinner. =
Nothing lefts it off. I tried a 1000 watt hair blower, but that only =
chipped some off where the finish was cracked. Didn=E2=80=99t really =
soften it.
