Paint Question

I've received several responses to my question which have been helpful.
Just to add more detail, the paint and primer are the same that I used
on the steering wheel hub with excellent results. The paint is an enamel
by American Tradition (Lowes) and says that it is fine for all
materials. The primer is from the same line and went on just fine with
no issues. They do make a version specifically for plastics which may
work better.
