If you're a stickler for LAT originality then you can add them to your
car... BUT: The weld-on ones essentially over-determine the rear axle
location, and it will tear something to pieces over time... the
"something" being whatever is weakest in the rear axle location system.
In the meantime it will make your Tiger ride like a 4x4 with no load in
the bed. The bolt-on ones don't have that exact problem, but they also
have limited effectiveness - the tighter you clamp them onto the front
of the spring, the better they work, but they'll degrade the ride in
direct proportion.
The Cal-Trac system (?) with the pivot at the front is a better
solution, although it imparts some pretty big loads onto a small part of
the spring, so if you like hard launches and you use this system, you
should keep an eye on that part of the spring to make sure you're not
suddenly left with a broken spring. The best feature of this system is
that it doesn't affect braking, which the LAT bars and Dan Walters'
torque arm do.
Dan Walters' torque arm is a very good solution; its only downside is
that it tends to promote forward weight transfer under braking, but
that's pretty manageable. It's basically a bolt on solution, and there
are probably hundreds of Tigers running around with the torque arm, or
an equivalent solution.
Good luck,
Theo
