Before I removed the fan shroud, rad, fan, and water pump, my fan  was just 
over 1/2 an inch from the rad and did not hit the shroud. How far in or  out 
from the shroud I did not check, was just happy that Derale fan did not hit  
anything.If I get all this stuff back and new pump and it fits with out hitting 
 
and I don't have to modify something I will be over the flipping moon!!. If  
yours works ok, smile and be happy.....cheers
