Steve is correct and to those who just don't know.
In 1965 three Tigers came in third in their
respective divisions of SCCA B Produciton, Pacific,
Mid Ohio and Central Florida. The Hollywood car won
7 out of 15 races and all three were at the American
Road Race of Champions at Daytona.
I don't mean to rain on your parade but three third place finishes is not
exactly impressive. What make of car finished first and second? You should
have cited the 1966 ARRC second place finish of Ron Dykes in B production at
Riverside. First place was a Shelby GT350 Mustang. The record shows the
Sunbeam Tiger never won any thing of real importance during its lifetime. No
championships except for 1999. A couple of SCCA local or regional wins that
everyone forgets. Compare the Tiger's record to other cars of the era and you
will see that its win record is not outstanding.
