I recall a conversation between nationally known drivers concerning a
new challenger. One said "He drives like he's never had an accident".

I stopped racing on a spin into a hay bail, and a car stopping inches
away from a T-bone against the bales. That was the day I realized I was
mortal. You can lose the edge. Your story brings back memories.
