Steve, I called Bora, Flowmaster, and maybe some other muffler companies on size
of exhaust pipe, including the crossover, sound, and fit.

Here is what I found universally from all of the tech guys at the companies, for
my 5.0 L engine.

1. 2.25" is an optimum dimension for the size and rpms to 6500.

2. The cross over pipe or H pipe can be 1 size smaller, on mine that is 2".

3. The 50 series mufflers fit the Tiger, and in either the regular or Delta
they are the quietest.

On performance, the car mags have for years tested various engines and various
mufflers, and the Flowmaster shows the biggest gain.

I have used Flowmaster for years on the Tigers, as noted in my article, and on a
87 Vette. The Vette showed a 3 mpg increase with nothing else, which of course
is an indication of increased efficiency.

So for me, it is a No Brainier on mufflers.

Someone mentioned that sound is like color, and for me I think it is a very nice
compromise.
