Hi all,

I took my crank, flywheel and balancer to Zimbabwe to be ground, hardened
and balanced but they don't know the "formula" for balancing the 302. Do any
of you know? This guy seems to know his stuff but says that he needs to know
the size of the weights to clamp onto the big end journals to do the
balancing. If any of you know a good balancing shop, could you please get
this information for me.

He can do a static balance but I fear this may not be enough and don't want
to put my blood, sweat, tears and $ into an engine that is going to be a
disappointment.

Just to let you know, I got a great deal on a cam kit from someone on the
list (Thanks Al!) and great deals from Summit Racing (new Holley 600,
Edelbrock performer and chome air cleaner for $340, complete rebuild kit
with forged pistons for $370, and good prices on Ford motorsport chrome
valve covers, an oil cooler kit, Brassworks aluminum closed impeller water
pump, MSD 6A and blaster coil etc.)

I haven't bought a distributor yet. Any thoughts on the Mallory or Accel,
points vs. electronic? I've seen a few coming up on ebay. Should I go with
centrifugal advance only?

Cheers and thanks for the help, derek
