     I finally got connected last night.  The ISP had to set me up on his 
     slower server, still claiming that there is a problem with Gateway 
     modems.  Just for laughs, I tried to sign up for AT+T Worldnet, and 
     connected just fine, higher speed and everything.  So I suspect that 
     there's something funny about their setup.
