Just to add some more confusion on dates:
     
     I was at a rather turbulent TE/AE board meeting in the spring of 1978. 
     There was much discussion of a large volume of Sunbeam spare parts 
     being unloaded by Chrysler, and who might buy them.  This was, of 
     course, just after the 10 years had expired.

        I had a similar .......
 I remember someone telling me at the time that there was some kind of federal 
law which required a manufacturer to maintain parts for something like 10 years 
after the end of production. Anyway Chrysler maintained Rootes parts for long 
after the 10 year point.
