My shift mechanism doesn't rattle. Do you think it might rattle because
all of the component parts are over 30 years old and haven't been
touched in all that time? Get a new shifter mechanism. Got mine from
Galaxy performance somewhere in the Midwest several years ago. Nice &
tight, and no rattles.
Now, if I could figure out where that bearing whine was coming from when
I accelerate....could be from the rearend---pinion,maybe--or is it from
the transmission? Any ideas on how to test without tearing it down??
