Ok, so I have found another interesting mod (I think).. I could not get the
car to idle less than 3000 revs. So I started with the basics, swapped out
the dampers and put some oil in. Not much change. Took the carbs off as
there were some little things bothering me, and found that the floats did not
activate the needle until it was full up. This give so much fuel that it is
constantly flowing into the carb around the jet even with no throttle. The
only way to correct this was to make a spacer to move the seat down. This
worked sort of. I can now get the car to idle around 1500 revs BUT when I
give it the gas I can tell that not enough fuel is flowing. The floats are
made of plastic and only have a stop for the amount of droop UNLESS something
has been removed from them.
Any ideas folks?
