I agree with you Guy, and the cores should be checked before relining, but
someone must be sleeping on the job. I wasted a lot of time by changing
everything else during several assemblies and assuming these brand new shoes in
the ABS box were correct. There was no way to make them work and they had to be
replaced. It appears to me that the two pieces that make up the shoe were not
located correctly when they were spot welded together, but I suppose these
shoes fit another application and it is difficult to see the difference during
the relining operation. I kept a picture of the "Shoes from hell" which I can
dig up this evening if anyone is interested. I decided not to return them to
save someone else from having to go through the same problem.
