You should probably check for local laws on such things.  Consider
yourself lucky if you don't need a building permit and inspections
from bureaucrats where you are.  But, now is the time to build it
right.  A few extra yards of concrete is nothing compared to having
something to repair in the future.  Whatever you build can only be as
strong as the foundation it is built upon.
