front sway bar

Hello all,--Did the BI originally come with a front sway bar as an option? 
Looking at the bottom of the frame members I can see pre drilled holes where 
the 
bar would mount. Do after market sway bars follow this hole pattern or am I 
looking at welding in a plate and drilling my own? Any thoughts on size of bar 
for a street machine? Thanks in advance ,----------------Bob C
