Oops, sorry, misread your post. I had a similar situation with a
manifold that came off a junked Sprite, though. I measured the intake on
the manifold and it turned out that someone had reamed it out to 1 1/2".
A 1 1/2" carb conversion is a pretty typical performance upgrade, have
you measured the carb and the manifold?
