I can vouch for that...
A couple weeks ago, I blew a top radiator hose on my Volvo wagon.
Fortunately, I was in the "auto row" section at Serramonte and was able to
pull into the driveway of the Ford dealership just as the needle climbed.
It turned out that the hose split along the top just where it was attached
to the water pump. I went into the parts department to see if they might
have a scrap piece of hose I could patch things up with. What I walked out
with was a roll of duct tape and a screwdriver for the hose clamp. After
wiping down the hose and wrapping it from the end to several inches past
the split, I replaced the clamp, filled the radiator and took a couple
spare gallons of water along in empty anti-freeze jugs. I made it the 5 or
6 miles home.
