I would also be interested to know if anybody has ever actually had a problem 
with
the thrust washer, and more specifically, on an engine they rebuilt themselves 
(so
they know it's done properly) without pinning the washer.  I have never met 
anybody
with this problem...just somebody who knew somebody, if you know what I mean.

curious.
