In a message dated 98-05-23 23:21:49 EDT, you write:

<< Because of the white smoke I believe it is a blown head gasket. As you
noted in a previous correspondence you did re-torque the head after 500 miles
so that should be OK assuming your torque wrench is calibrated OK. The next
thing to check for is a cracked or warped head. Also the overheating can be
related to a head problem. If I were you I would remove the head and have it
checked. >>

A valve job was jone including new springs. It was also polished !!! Im
thinking a bad head gasket or a bad fan clutch (or both). Put it this way,
Im putting in a new head gasket (FelPro), then checking the fan clutch. If
the fan clutch is bad I'm thinking of going electric. What size and/or type
does anyone use ?

Thanks,
Mike
