Well, frankly, I think that view is unfortunately
correct for the majority.
There are some who would drive a Spridget above all else
no matter what. Actually, because this list is the hard core
Spridget fan, there are probably even a lot of them here.
However, would you trade your spridget for an XK-E if
all else was equal as far as ownership?
I'm not ashamed to say I would.
Actually, it relates to the current thread. I am currently
in a financial situation where I could easily buy an E-type. The
wife wants one, so it's an urge I am frequently fighting.
HOWEVER, the main reason I do not is because the cost
of ownership is so much higher.
I can drive my spridget in the rain. I can drive my spridget
in the gravel. I can drive my spridget every day because it
doesn't make my heart stop whenever I hear a weird sound from
under the hood.
If a Midget became as expensive to own as an XKE or
a 60s Ferrari, I have to wonder if I'd drive one. Thankfully
it isn't, and I'm very happy.
