Air filter housing

I bid on a air filter housing, English style with two cold air inlets. The
reserve wasn't met, but I was offered a second chance to purchase the item for
my high bid amount.

Is this cold air inlet type of housing much better than the K&N style? 45
dollars better?

I was kind of glad I didn't win the auction because I was uncertain.
