Subject: Where to install an oil temp sensor

I'm planning on installing an oil temp guage. I'm
wondering where to put the sensor. I don't have an
oil cooler installed but will probably install one of
those soon. Any ideas out there?

I welded a boss on the same side and at the same level as the oil drain
plug on the oil pan.

On my S2000 engine in Tiny Tim, I didn't want to be drilling holes in
the finned aluminum oil pan so I got creative and drilled out a drain
plug, tapped it and installed the sensor right in the plug.

Cheers,
Joe
