I used the Craftsman spring compressor.  Worked fine....  $15.99 and
available at the local Sears.  Sears online has a bunch of sales going
on....

I found the cheapie from Harborfreight to be simple to
use and effective for Spitfire front springs.  Best
part is I paid only $9.99 for the set and shipping was
free with a coupon!

Item # at HF's website is 3980-0VGA, it's still $9.99,
I just checked.

It works!
