Hi Avi
I think the end float you are talking about is for the distributor drive
gear. The float is adjusted by the addition of extra gaskets under the
distributor pedestal. I have sent the image on how to do this from the
Triumph Workshop Manual.
Hope this is clearer than the Haynes.

Subject: Distributor Endfloat?!!!?

|
| Good Morning All!
| I took the morning off to see if I can get the new motor fired up. I am
| almost ready, I still need to install the distributor. My Haynes manual
goes
| through a whole process of setting the distributor's endfloat. I have no
idea
| what they are talking about. Can anybody give me a simple procedure on how
to
| do this? assume that my #1 cylinder is ready to fire. How do I measure the
| clearance they speak of?
| TIA,
| Avi
