I'd recommend a new one- unless you can guarantee the condition of the
donor...

Relatvely easy to do- the upper ball joints(only ones on the car..) just
bolt right in place. Hard part is separating the old ball joint from the
upright.

Relatively easy- see my next response...

Both drive shaft and halfshafts use the same u-joints. (Precision #341, if
I remember correctly.) All are c-clip retained. Replace them all at one
time. Why not do now what you will probably have to do later anyway? I would
highly recommend also replacing the axle bearings at the same time. I just
ordered from Rimmers everything(except u-joints) to do both these
operations- rebush rear spring eyes, radius arms, and rear trunnions, and
replace the inner and outer axle bearings. Everything for both sides came to
a total of around $70.00 US, not including shipping. Not very expensive at
all. My next order will be for the mountings and seals for the differential,
just to do preventive maintenance. Hardest part of these jobs- removing the
drive shaft and half shafts. I would suggest doing the things I mentioned
all at one time. You will have the stuff apart anyway...Do it now :)

I usually deal with Rimmers(Heralds only get supplies from home...Pommyland!
lol :) w/apologies to my forebears in the Empire)

It won't take all that long to do- just gotta find yourself the time...

Good luck with it,
Scott
