Bridgestone/Firestone Inc. collected data from 1997 to 1999 indicating
possible safety problems with the same tire models that were recalled last
month
Masatoshi Ono, chief executive of Bridgestone/Firestone, testified before the
Senate Appropriations transportation subcommittee and apologized for the
fatal accidents. He also pledged to bring in an outside independent
investigator to try to find out what caused tread separation problems on some
tires.
"I come before you to apologize to you, the American people and
especially to the families who have lost loved ones in these terrible
rollover accidents,'' Ono said.
They knew there was a problem....... They ignored the problem.........
People died.......
Isn't that manslaughter by indifference?
