Air in oil pressure tube

        It doesn't matter.  If there's 100 pounds per square inch of 
pressure in the oil line, that air will be pressurized to the same 100 
psi which will transfer to the guage at 100 psi also.

That's the way I see it.  Works the same way under water when I scuba 
dive.
