I'm not sure if it was the needle or the diaphragm, but the carb is
definitely running much better / leaner.  I did buy the Allan key adjuster.
I'll  check the mileage this next week and see where the MPG falls.  If it's
still below 30-32 MPG I'll replace the jet.   I've been using the spitfire
as my daily driver (70 miles round trip) for the last few weeks (sense it's
been back amount the running).  I find that I tend to take alternate routes
home from day to day.

        I recon you will notice an inprovement when you tune it, have you

        What's the butterfly spindle like on these things, do they where
like SU's
        do?  Chainging the spindles made a huge difference to my car.
