the 5Jx13 rims are probably from a TR7. They will fit fine!

Malcolm,
The FAQ is starting to fill out. Nice job.
One small bit of information. The early spitfire disk rims were 4 inch.
(I'm not sure about the wires)

Also FAQ, the spitfire list had a long discussion about getting
spare ignition keys made for your spit. The upshot was
Isaac Crow created a neat little table of which blanks
are known to work for specific years of spits. It's at
http://www.avana.net/~isaac/spitkeys.htm

On your 'rusty' and 'progress pages, a lot of the images seem
broken. In the source they look like
<img src="file:///C:/WINDOWS/MEDIA/HTML/weld1.jpg"...
which probably works for you, but not the rest of us.

Now I have a question for the lists about rims.
When I was at the junkyard last weekend, I picked up what
appear to be 5 inch steel spitfire rims. The numbering where
my current rims say 4.5x13x...
says 5Jx13x..., and the rims are definatly wider. Other than
that they look exactly like spit rims. They are most likely off a
79 or 80 spit. Were 5 inch rims stock on the last years ?
I think my Haynes only mentions 4 and 4.5 inch rims.

Have a great weekend everybody!
