Dave, if you want a new looking dash, forget the overlay. Epoxy the cracks and
file/sand smooth. Go out to a shop that specializes in vinyl coverings and get
about a yard of the material that matches the closest to the orginal grain. Glue
this over top your original dash. When it is all done, it looks like brand new
(not plastic). The instructions are on the VTR web pages.

BTW, use epoxy around the ashtray area where the ridges are. If you use contact
cement in this area, the material will pull away from the dash in hot weather.
