As some of you may know I had a small problem a few weeks back with
my axle nut coming loose. Well I took it to the mechanic that I
thought could do the work. The hub is ok and so are the splines on
the stub axle. The problem is this, the bearings are binding because
their spacing is incorrect.
"Ok fine then you can fix it?" "No I don't have the tools for it."
So I call another place that is local, and ask him. He says that he
used to do work on GT6s but he doesn't like working on the rotoflex
rear ends. Says they are too much of a pain with all that precise
measuring, end-float I suppose. Must be a soft spot. I need some
help here, I need to find a mechanic that can do this because walking
to classes a 1/2 mile away in the rain is no fun. Plus I've only had
the car on the road for about 3 months and I still need time to bond.
Anyway, does anyone know of a mechanic that is in the Boston area
that can do this? I am about 30mi south of Boston, in Bridgewater.
Anywhere in northern Rhode Island would be good too.
TIA
Tom
