Yes, you need a set of inch, or imperial, tools. Triumph used imperial
sized fasteners throughout all their TR range upto the TR8, although I'm
unsure if they changed to metric in the mid-80's like many other
manufacturers.
The only metric wrench you may need is a 10mm IF you have replaced any
of your hydraulic system. My rear wheel cylinders have metric-sized
bleed screws.
There are many brands of tools you can buy in the USA. Most quality
tools have a lifetime guarantee - if you break it, they will replace it
free. Some brand names to look for include Craftsman (sold by Sear's
Department stores) or Mac. If you are in Canada, I have used
Mastercraft tools (sold by Canadian Tire) for a long time. The
'ultimate' (in quality, name brand recognition, and cost) is Snap-On.
These are tradesman tools sold via a mobile distributorship directly to
the trades.
One other option is to visit pawn shops wherever you go. You can build
up a set of what you need for upto 60% less cost. It will cost you
time, though.
