I'll jump in here best I can from memory. The swap requires the GT6
vertical links -- basically the earlier Herald/Vitesse vertical links --
for mounting of the larger caliper. The GT6 (and Vitesse) also used a
different stub axle and wheel bearings (I don't recall if the hub itself
is different). As noted previously, the brake rotor is also larger than
that of the Spitfire (9.7" v. 9").

While we're all at it, of course, we'll want to retain the GT6 master
cylinder, and we'll need to weld handbrake cable guides to the Spitfire
tub if we're using a "Roto-flex" chassis, in addition to other mod's
mentioned.

Probably the very simplest, most nearly "bolt-on" conversion would utilize
a circa 1973 Spitfire tub on a later 1973 (swing-spring) GT6 chassis. With
this "kit" all the features of the GT (including the additional fresh air
vents in the dash) could be most easily retained with "custom" work pretty
much limited to the firewall/floor pan mod's needed. (OK, you'd still
lose the need for the rear window demister and dome light dash switches,
unless you've a hardtop for the Spit!)
