In general, I totally agree with this. For instance, if my next car ends up
being a LGT (still a strong possibility), the possibility of an AT won't be
part of the equation. In my mind, the LGT comes in one flavor - 5spd. This
would also apply with a Mustang and also the new Challenger if they offer a
6spd.

But with the SHO, eh - I don't know. Part of the equation for me is my
commute. When I was a 'roaming' Sys Admin, I loved getting in the car and
driving around. Now? Now I commute back and forth to Pittsburgh. Day in and
day out I see the same shit - slow moving traffic, construction everywhere
and bumper to bumper for at least 1/2 my commute. Frankly, in and out with
the clutch pedal got tiresome on a boring commute like this. Ya ya ya - I
know - I'm a wuss right? Well, I drove the 91 for 9 months of that commute
and all it did was make me wish I had an auto. I get nothing out of
clutch-in, clutch-out in Pittsburgh rush hour traffic.

If there was a larger difference in performance from the MTX V6 and the V8's
I currently (I've owned 3 MTX's (one of them a VERY strong example) and 3
V8's so I know full well the differences between 'em) own, I might feel
differently. But .3 in the 1320 isn't enough of a difference to make it a
big deal to me. The ATX is just what I need for this commute. If I raced the
car more and commuted less, I'd no doubt feel differently! But that's not
the case.

It's all relative though. Some folks like Chevy's, some Fords. Some like
turbo-charged engines (I remember you saying to me once that you DIDN'T like
'em - that you preferred an 'athletic' NA engine over a boosted one. See,
folks can change their tastes as the situation dictates!), some like 'em NA.
It's NBD to me as long as you have a passion for what you drive, right?
