we got any ham operators here ??? been out of the hobby for 30 years and tr=
ying=20
to get back on a limited basis
mainly vhf and uhf.
=20
I acquired some 1/2" rubber coated copper corrugated heliax feed line that =
I need to test and see if it's still good... It's 50 ohm and I can test wit=
h SWR meter and dummy load
=20
my question is... whoever took it down wasn't as careful as they should hav=
e been and there are some bulges and bends (not totally crimped)
and I'm wondering how it will affect the SWR or impedance. I can get it =
round again with some judicious plier work. Just looking for some experien=
ced info and guidance
that might include other tests that a rookie might run... i.e how meaningf=
ul would resistance readings end to end be... I assume that a resistance re=
ading should be infinity between center conductor
and shell... educate me
=20
shop content... rig is in the shop and the antenna support is attached ther=
ewith.
=20
thanks
john
