Thanks, Eric. I=E2=80=99ve checked with some of the rebuilders & they =
say they can only do NiCad batteries. I really like the reduced weight =
of the Li-Ion batteries so want to stay with them if possible. I have a =
couple coming in today that I bought on Amazon so I=E2=80=99ll be able =
to check them out soon. If desired I can post how they work our. The =
last Ni-Mh batteries I bought worked fine until they develop a bad =
connection from being dropped. Repaired the connection & they worked =
again.=20

Peace,

Pat

I used a service that did the battery replacement. For the hassle of =
sending my unit in, waiting and getting it back, then having the =
contacts corrode within a year, I wouldn't do it again.=20

I would just do it myself. You can buy the battery cells for cheap (and =
upgrade Ahr) and solder them yourself. It's fairly straight forward.=20

I=E2=80=99ve been using the DeWalt 18v tools for many years. Battery =
technology has moved from NiCad through NMh to Li-Ion. It seems that =
DeWalt has quit making 18V batteries & now supports their 18v tools =
using an adapter that allows their 20v Li-Ion batteries to be used in =
the 18v tools. I have one of the adapters and, while it works, makes the =
tools a bit awkward. There are after-market 18v li-Ion batteries on the =
market. Does anyone have experience with any of them, good or bad?=20
 =20
Thanks in advance.=20
