Breakers do fail, and they aren't nice enough to let you know in advance. My
hot tub pump switch is also the breaker, which is not really a good idea, as
circuit breakers are not really designed to be on/off switches for regular
use, but it is not unusual for hot tubs to be wired this way.

I secured our hot tub when the family was out of town for a week and since

My trouble shooting plan is a good visual check, then disconnect the power
feed at the spa and see if the breaker will energize.
If so, then I know the problem is with the spa itself.
