Bill, I found a couple of T style hangers at my local hardware. Look like
upside down T with tubing for the 'top' of the T and some flat stock with
holes to mount on the opposite end. Judicially placed long lag bolts secure
it to the garage roof joists and my Audi summer or winter wheels/tires just
hang there when not in use. I use water pipe insulation to cover the tubing
that the wheel centers slide over, just to protect everything. I was a bit
apprehensive when first installed and hanging over wifes A6, but 3 years
later they've never even groaned.

Seems I will have two sets of winter tires that I will need to store for 8
months of the year. These tires are always mounted on the rim. Currently
they are stacked up in the garage. I want the space back in the garage.
Where do you guys store your tires? I don't want to give up the space in
the shed either. Maybe a rack under the deck out of the sun. I could put
some type of roof on the rack so they don't get all moldy and mossy. Any
suggestions.
