Went into the local parts store and requested a part at the counter.
Conversation went like this:

Counter person: what engine does it have?

Me: 350 (already told him make and model)

CP: A 350????

Me: yes, 350

CP: Are you sure?

Me: yes, I am sure

CP: I have never heard of that engine

Me: 350 cid, there are a few of them around...

CP: cid???

Me: Impatient stare

CP: It should be "something" liter, like is it a 350 liter?...

OK, I have new theory that I'm curious if I'm right about.

The theory is based on the fact that you can tell a "self-taught" mechanic
from one that learned from working with others.
