  a switch will do what you need but a hub is all you need.  Switches and 
Hub are getting to the point where they are considered the same thing by 
many people but a switch technically knows where to send packets and can 
move packets even to sub-nets, all you need is a hub that just "splits" 
your connection into multiple connection.  In the old days switches cost 
more than hubs because they actually did some work inside, nowdays they 
look the same and probably cost the same.

   Short answer, is yes, you just run one cable to the room connect your 
hub/switch and connect multiple devices.
